We have two groups putting the world to rights, and there really is no limit to the topics to discuss, nor to the solutions that we can suggest.
Unfortunately there is a limit to the number the groups can take, and both groups are full. If anyone would like to become part of a third group, please let me know. Maybe you can lead it. Nobody really knows how to solve the world’s problems, so if you don’t feel expert, you’re not alone. So if you feel roused by issues like prison policy, banker
performance, litter, or anything else, and would like to thrash it out, please get in touch and I’ll try to get you all together in a new group.
Our group has enjoyed tackling some quite thorny topics this year, not least immigration (just a few days before the general election) and in preparation for our November discussion we visited the recycling centre at Norton.. Unfortunately illness has reduced our numbers recently but this means that: we can offer a warm welcome to a few new members. We meet on the last Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12 noon at 10 St Andrews Drive. .Jacqui Higson For latest news click here |
The second Putting the World to Rights group had a successful launch on January 22nd 2008, we currently have ten members discussing various subjects. Currently the format of the group is for the leader or a member to look into a subject and talk for a few minutes on it, before opening up the discussion to all. Penny Scotland.
