After having to cancel a session or two for various reasons, I have decided to move our meetings to the first Tuesday evening of the month, though still only from September to April.  This should make the date easier to remember too.  At our January gathering we watched 'Great Expectations', the Dickens classic directed by David Lean.  This is obviously a slimmed down version of the book containing fewer characters and some major differences to the storyline. Despite its age (made in 1946) it held our interest and gripped us at times.  At the end of it one of our members said she wished they made films like that nowadays.  We certainly all enjoyed it.
